After a break for the month of June, the class will resume in July. Internal or external chanting of mantras is a part of almost every spiritual tradition and religion, and is a popular transformative practice. This class will provide an introduction to the philosophy of mantras and its basis in a theory of sound and vibration. We will practice and discuss the how mantras are used in the Figueira community, and how they can be a part of personal transformation, group practice, and universal service. Mantras can also be used as a tool for healing and, when used correctly, have the power to align the Self with the divine plan. Danny Birch will join us for this class to play music on the sarod, accompany the mantras, and share ideas about the spiritual significance of sound and music.
